
Obituary of Charles Thomas Stockwell
Pelham-Charles Thomas "Tom" Stockwell, 81, passed away July 8, 2023 at his home. Born August 6, 1941 in Amherst, he was the son of Edward Charles and Gertrude (Pratt) Stockwell. Tom's roots of growing up and living in Amherst extended many generations and he proudly served his country in the US Army from 1959-1962. He was the business owner of Northeast Pipeline, which started in North Amherst.
Tom and his late wife, Barbara, raised their family in Amherst and enjoyed time camping with their children and grandchildren. For the past 25 years, Tom and Barbara made their home in Pelham. As an avid outdoorsman, Tom enjoyed hunting and fishing along with time spent traveling with his wife. November 9, 2022, Tom was predeceased by his wife of 62 years.
He will be dearly missed by his children, Kathleen Stockwell and her boyfriend, Roland Fong of Nashua, NH, Alan Stockwell and his girlfriend, Stacey Kastner of Belchertown, and Julie Bilyak and her husband William of Willington, CT. Tom will also forever remain with his grandchildren, Alexis and Kelli Stockwell, Taylor and Kyle Bilyak, Connor Farwell and "bonus" grandchildren, Amanda, Timothy and Jonathan. He also leaves his sister, Carol Inman and her husband, Chuck and brother, Edward Stockwell and his wife, Meg, along with "bonus" sister, Sharyn Wentworth. He will also be sorely missed by his grandpuppies, Tanner, Luna, Finn, Gracie, and George. Besides his parents and wife, Tom was predeceased by his sister Evelyn Fisher.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 19th from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home with a service to begin at 12 p.m. Burial of Tom and Barbara will take place at Pelham Valley Cemetery.
