



Obituary of Margaret M. Paquette
Palmer- Margaret Paquette "Memere" (Cormier/Chicoine) passed away in her home on July 15, 2023 after living a strong 105 years. Margaret was born in Canada on May 10, 1918 to the late Raymond and Sarah Cormier, and came to the US at the age of 4. She experienced a great deal of family and world event history throughout her life, most of which she was quick to recall. She was married to George Chicoine until his death in 1971. In 1976, she married Albert Paquette until his death in 2005. She loved to entertain and held many a pool party. She enjoyed family, Red Sox, her lottery tickets, and loved a casino trip. She remained active and engaged the 5 years after turning 100- Always defying looking her age!
She was predeceased by her first husband, George; second husband, Albert (Pepere); 8 siblings, Alfred, Reggie, Joe, Bertha, Lily, Pauline, Leona and Dorothy; and son-in-law, Edward.
She leaves behind her daughter, Gloria Page (David), and her daughter, Beverly Dudek, with whom she lived. She also leaves her stepchildren, Ken (Madeleine), Richard (Karen); grandchildren, Cari (David), David (Amy), Andrew (Mona), Laura (Ashley), Katie, Trevor, and Gina; great grandchildren, Emily, Kathryn, Roya, Ryan; sister-in-law, Edith; as well as many nieces and nephews who continued to be attentive throughout the years. Many thanks to all the friends and neighbors who were always available and helpful. The family also wants to thank the caregivers with ChandaCare, especially her buddy, Dylann, who cared for her in these last 6 months, and to the many hospice caregivers of Compassus, and Dr. Safi for his care through all her later years.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023, from 9:30-10:30am at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at St Thomas the Apostle Church at 11:00am. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Springfield. Please consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital so many more children may be given the chance to be 105.
