I coached both Brando and Mo on different Amherst teams when Mo was 10U and Brandon was 12U. But when Brandon was a 10U Dave and I coached his Amherst team. We had a great season win wise but even more importantly laughed our asses off all season.
Living through a hockey season together is the best way to get to know someone. We had some great talks about parenting, coaching, music, beer and life in general. Dave didn't care as much about the wins and losses as he did about the experience he could provide his players. Anytime I ran into him after the AHA days he always greeted me with a big smile and we'd reminisce fondly of our season together.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush,

Next time I'm at a show, a brewery or camping I will raise a glass to one of the good guys.
