Obituary of Raymond Ernest Leclair

Granby - Raymond Ernest Leclair, 74, passed away July 29, 2023, at Care One at Northampton. He was born on July 26, 1949, in Holyoke, MA, the son of Raymond E. and Claire C. (Tetrault) Leclair. Raymond was raised in the Fairview section of Chicopee. In 1973 Raymond married Patricia and they moved to Granby in 1974 where they raised their children and resided for 48 years. Ray retired from Worthington/Atlas Copco where he worked as a troubleshooter in service repair for 40 years. He was a member of the Mount Tom Lodge A.F. & A.M in Holyoke for 52 years. Raymond was a handyman who loved working with his hands, rebuilding classic cars and was great at construction and masonry. He loved going to classic car shows in the New England area, boating, waterskiing and spending time by his pool enjoying a cold beer. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia (Guenther) Leclair of Ludlow and their three children, Eric Leclair and his wife Mary of Granby, Robert Leclair and his wife Shannon of Granby and Heather Ewing and her husband Rob of Missouri. He is also survived by a sister Claudelle Pinsonneault and her husband Gilbert of S. Hadley and two grandchildren Peyton and Hannah Leclair. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from 11:00AM - 1:00PM followed by a funeral service at 1:00PM at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at West Cemetery in Granby. Donations may be made in Ray's memory to Lewy Body Dementia Association Incorporated, 912 Killian Hill Rd., S.W.
