Obituary of Donald Peter Zebrowski

Granby-Donald P. Zebrowski, 82, passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 17, 2023. Born February 7, 1941 in Holyoke, he was the son of Peter and Delia (Kocot) Zebrowski. Donald grew up and lived in Holyoke for many years, residing for the past 57 years in Granby. He was active in the town and served on the Planning Board, Zoning Board along with volunteering at the polls and serving on the board for the Granby Council on Aging. Donald also devoted his time to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church by assisting with the VA members, serving on the Finance Committee, the Men's Club and delivering Warm Hearts, Warm Meals. He enjoyed time outdoors fishing, most especially at Lake Wyola and his green thumb was evident while he tended to his flower and vegetable gardens. While his children were growing up, Donald spent time coaching them during their youth on the local Granby teams. Donald's memory will forever remain with his wife of 59 years, Carol (Schindler) Zebrowski, and their children, John Zebrowski and his wife Regina of Ludlow, Michael Zebrowski and his wife Suzanne of Malvern, PA, and Lynn Patruno and her husband Robert of Granby. Donald also leaves behind his six grandchildren, Gabrielle, Sloan, Brynn, Shawn, Nicole and Jessica along with great granddaughter, Ellory and two on the way. His cousins, Richard Gilbert, Katsy Havlir, Henrietta Kocot and Henry Kocot also survive him. On Friday, Aug 25, the family will greet folks at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with a Mass to begin at 11 a.m. Military honors and committal prayer will take place at 1pm at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Charity, Chapter 11. Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
