Obituary of Michael Edward Harnois

Belchertown - Michael E. Harnois, 70, passed away August 24, 2023, at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 31, 1953, in Holyoke, MA to George and Noella (Goyette) Harnois. Michael was raised in Chicopee and has lived in Belchertown since 1978. Michael attended STCC and received an associate degree in civil engineering. In 1973, he began his career as a carpenter working for LN Bernashe. Then in 1978 he joined the Local 108 Carpenters Union and worked for Fontaine Brothers for 32 years as master carpenter and civil engineer, retiring in 2010. In his leisure he enjoyed working on motorcycles. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Robin (Stewart) Harnois and three sons, Jeffrey M., Evan S. (Jillian) and Nathan J. (Nicole). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Piper, Isla, Camden and Bennett; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased in death by two brothers, Eric and David Harnois. All services are private, and Beers & Story Belchertown was entrusted with the arrangements.
