Obituary of Steven Syriac

Steven Syriac, 55, of Summerfield, FL., passed away August 14, 2023. He was born in Springfield, MA on November 19, 1967 to the late Richard and Daisy (Dodge) Syriac. Steven was a Belchertown resident since the age of 12 until 2011 when he relocated to Ware. Then in 2016, Steven moved to Summerfield, FL.

Steven proudly served his country in the United States Navy until 1987. In 1994, he began working for the Belchertown Ambulance Service. He played an integral role in developing the company into a full-time service with certified paramedics, and really helped to build the company into what it is today. In 1999, Steven was the Director of EMS. After moving to Florida, Steven became very involved with the Guardian Ad Litem Program for foster children. He loved to work and enjoyed cooking.

Besides his parents, Steven was preceded in death by his nephews, Danny and Richard Raymond Syriac III. He leaves behind his children, Katelyn Harrington and husband Steve, Stephanie Syriac, and Nicole Syriac. He also leaves his sister, Marjorie Syriac Dunham, of CT; brother, Rick Syriac, of SC; Aunt Joanne Sayers of SC, grandchildren, Jamie and Maddison; as well as many nieces and nephews.

All services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Steven's name can be made to the Belchertown Emergency Medical Services.
