Obituary of Joseph P. D'Alessandro

Joseph Peter D’Alessandro, age 30, died on Sept 13 when he lost his will to live because of the overwhelming pain of his mental illness. Joe was born on March 16, 1993 in Springfield and lived in South Hadley until he moved to North Carolina to attend college. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 2016 and obtained another bachelor of science degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2019. He worked as a nurse on the Neuroscience Unit at the UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. Joe will be remembered for his honesty, curiosity, intelligence and humor. Joe had a brilliant mind and a tender spirit. Joe is survived by his parents, Mary and Michael of South Hadley, his brothers Nicholas (Amy) of Morristown, NJ and Stephen (Nicole) and their daughter, Olivia, of Hanover, MA. and his sister, Elizabeth, of South Hadley. Joe was predeceased by his brother, David, in 2014. Joseph also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.
