Obituary of Eric R Meffen

Eric Robert Meffen, 46, passed away unexpectedly September 19, 2023. Born in Springfield on January 15, 1977, he was the son of the late Robert P. Meffen of Monson and Diane (Jolicoeur) Meffen of Palmer. Eric grew up and lived most of his life in Monson. Eric attended Pathfinder and went on to United Tractor Trailer School and was a truck driver traveling all over the United States. His family was proud to share that he trucked through 43 states in total. In his leisure, Eric enjoyed racing RC cars, fishing, kayaking, going to nascar races, building just about anything, playing video games and traveling with his son, along with hunting, taking photographs, collecting unique currencies, working on all sorts of race cars, new cars, old cars and wood working. In 2016, he was predeceased by his father, Robert. Besides his mother, Eric is survived by his son, Eric R. Meffen Jr of Palmer as well as his sister, Nicole Braskie, her husband Dan of Palmer, his two nieces Grace and Sofia, as well as his lifelong partner Tracy Douglas, his stepdaughter Kaitlyn and his two grandchildren Marley and Joseph. Services will be privately held for the family and Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Coalition for the Homeless (coalitionforthehomeless.org).
