Obituary of William C. King
Ware-William C. King, 89, passed away April 17, 2024 with his son and daughter-in-law by his side. Born July 11, 1934 in Dalton, NH, Bill was the son of Richard and Lillian (Bresse) King. Bill lived for many years in Springfield and for the past 38 years in Ware. He was a proud US Army Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. Bill was a truck driver for 18 years with First National Stores Inc in Windsor Locks, CT and retired from Prax Air. After his retirement, he drove the school van for Tantasqua School District in Brimfield. He loved the great outdoors, whether he was hunting or fishing. He was also a past member of the American Legion in Ware. In 2015, he was predeceased by his wife, Patricia L. (Gibbs) as well as his daughter, Debra Haggan and son, William C. King, Jr. He leaves behind his son, Kevin and his wife, Collen of Yuma, AZ along with his brother, Vernard King of Ludlow, ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. on July 11, Bill's 90th birthday. A service will begin 1 p.m. and military honors to conclude at 3 p.m.at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Donations may be made in his memory to Disabled American Veterans.
