Obituary of Richard Cournoyer

Chicopee, MA - Richard Cournoyer, 54, passed away May 10, 2021 as a result of injuries of an automobile accident.   He was born on March 29, 1967 in Holyoke, MA to the late Paul and Shirley (Lacasse) Cournoyer of S. Hadley.   Richard was raised in South Hadley and graduated from South Hadley High School.  He proudly served in the Army National Guard.     He has resided in Chicopee, MA for the last 26 years and worked as welder for Associated Building Wreckers in Springfield for eighteen years.   In his leisure, he enjoyed playing pool, hunting and fishing.    Besides his mother Shirley, he will be deeply missed by his two sons, Andrew and Jordan and their mother Kim Cournoyer all of Chicopee.    He is also survived by three brothers, John of Otis, Paul and Shawn Cournoyer both of South Hadley, as well as many extended family members and friends.   Calling hours will be held on Fri., May 21st from 4:00-6:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 pm at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home.  For more information please visit www.beersandstory.com
