Obituary of Janet L. Messier

"Palmer- Janet L. (Walker) Messier, 70, of South Main St. passed away March 26, 2007 at home. Born March 23, 1937 in St. Albans, VT, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Clarabelle (Hurley) Walker. Janet was the past commander of Disabled American Veteran Chapter 59 Auxillary along with an auxiliary member of the V.F.W. in Ware. She was also an associate member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 405 and the American Legion Auxilary of Ware. Janet was a recipient of Citizen of the Year for her participation in Operation Desert Storm Gift Lift. She leaves her husband of 52 years, Richard Francis Messier along with children Susan and her husband Paul Smith, Richard and his wife Cheryl Messier, Michael and his wife Claudia Messier all of Palmer, and Denise Courchesne of Ware. Janet is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Paul Jr., Nathaniel, Rachel, Deidre, Tracy, Timothy, Joshua, Marc Jr., and Eric as well as great grandchildren Sierra, Matthew, Anthony, Derrick, Alyssa, and Arianna. Janet will also be missed by brothers James Walker of Ware, John Walker and sister Linda Martowski both of Palmer along with her faithful companion Twilight. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Donations may be made to Quaboag Valley Hospice, 42 B Wright St, Palmer, MA 01069. "
