Obituary of Irene V. Janulis

"Irene V. (Nakrosis) Janulis, 76, of Flynt Street died Saturday, February 24 at Wing Memorial Hospital. Born in Montreal, Canada, December 10, 1930, she spent many years in Holden, MA before relocating to Palmer in 1968. She worked as a secretary for Friendly Ice Cream Corporation for 25 years before her retirement in 1996. Friends will fondly remember her beautiful gardens of over 300 varieties of day lilies. She was a member of many clubs relative to this passion, namely The Iris Society, The Wilbraham and Springfield Garden Club, The Hemerocallis Society, and she was the past president of Down to Earth Gardeners. She was also a member of the Palmer, Brimfield and Sturbridge Senior Centers. Her brother Paul Nakrosis and nephew Todd of Rye, NH survive her. A graveside service will be Wednesday, February 28 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Thomas Cemetery, Palmer. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
