Obituary of Robert M. Clingman

"Monson- Robert M. Clingman, 53, of Silver St., passed away January 9, 2007 at home with his family by his side. Born January 13, 1953 in Springfield, he is the son of John W. Clingman of Monson and the late Rosemond (Pilke) Clingman. Robert grew up in Springfield and lived in Belchertown from 1984-1997 when he moved to Monson. He was a graduate of the High School of Commerce and attended Holyoke Community College. Bob worked at the Belchertown State School until 1985 and continued his care at Monson Developmental Center. He was a member of the Assembly of God in Wilbraham and took much enjoyment in music. Robert played the keyboard and guitar and was formerly in a band, “Serious Hobby”. Besides his father, he will be greatly missed by his wife of 9 years, Charline (Guimond), along with children Carl Guimond and wife Denise of Brimfield and their children Michael Guimond, Emily Carpenter, and Ashley Lane, another son Kevin Guimond and fiancé Jenn Buchanan of Vernon, CT, and daughter Sherry Guimond and fiancé Noah of Springfield, MI along with adopted daughter Jennifer Rodriquez. Robert also leaves a sister Elizabeth A. and her husband Steve Vandermyn of Wallingford, CT and their daughter Colby and her husband Massimo Fraschilla and their daughter Eliana Grace of Middlefield, CT. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at the Assembly of God, Stony Hill Rd., in Wilbraham followed by burial in Hillcrest Park in Springfield. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N.Main St. For those wishing, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to The American Cancer Society, New England Division, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
