Obituary of Thomas A. Sullivan

"Wilbraham - Thomas A. Sullivan, 82, of Orchard Valley at Wilbraham died January 6, 2007 in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Belchertown, MA on March 24, 1924, he is the son of the late Cornelius and Lucy (Hanifin) Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan was raised in Belchertown and graduated from Belchertown High School. He received a bachelor degree in Chemistry from American International College. Mr. Sullivan served his country in the United States Army during WWII and received a Purple Heart. A resident at Orchard Valley the past three years, Thomas lived for many years in Downingtown, PA and before that in New Canaan, CT. For most of his career he worked in sales and marketing for Weyerhaeuser Company, he previously worked for Tecnifax Corporation in Holyoke, MA. He was predeceased by his wife Suzanne (Spellios) Sullivan in 1998 and a sister Ruth Sullivan in 1980. He is survived by a son Michael Sullivan of New York City and a daughter Penelope Sullivan of Chicago, IL. He will also be missed by three sister’s Mary Sullivan of Belchertown, Margaret Slaiby of Manchester, CT and Cornelia Sullivan of Boston and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be Wednesday at 1:00pm in St. Bartholomew’s Church, Bondsville, MA. A private burial will take place at Pittsfield Cemetery in Pittsfield, MA. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Granby Public Library, Granby, MA 01033. Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. "
