Obituary of Ronald J. Picard

"Ronald J. Picard, Sr, 72, of King Ave., died January 3, 2007 in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Holyoke, MA on August 16, 1934, he was the son of the late Ronald and Emma Picard. Ron was raised in Holyoke and Palmer and has lived in Monson for the past 47 years. Mr. Picard served his country in the US. Marine Corp. during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 130 and Marine Corp League of Ware, MA, he also volunteered at USO during Desert Storm at Westover. Ronald was a carpenter and worked for Monson Developmental Center for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Mary (Chappel) Picard and two sons Ronald J. Jr, and his wife Debbie and Wayne F. all of Monson. He will also be missed by four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be Saturday at 9:00am from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Patrick’s Church, Monson. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery Monson, MA. Calling hours are Friday from 5:00 –8:00 pm. Donations may be made in his memory to the Monson Fire/Ambulance Association 200 Main St., Monson, MA 01057. "
