"Helen (Anderson) Skowyra, 78, of George St., died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at her home with her family by her side. Born in Palmer, August 18, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Selma (Hiler) Anderson and was a lifelong resident. Following her graduation from Palmer High School, she worked for Bell Telephone. Later in life, she worked at the Palmer Public Library for 20 years, where she loved meeting and interacting with those she met. Helen’s greatest joy was supporting her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in everything that they did, no matter what the event was or where it occurred. Helen’s sense of humor and positive attitude will be missed by all who knew her. Besides her parents, her husband Anthony predeceased her in 1969. She will be missed by her four children Paul Skowyra and his wife Deborah Queiros of Monson, Susan Gates of Brockton, Carolynn Morrison of Palmer and John of Palmer. She also leaves a brother Leo and his wife Evie of Gardner and her cherished grandchildren Jason, Ben and Meghan Gates of Brockton, Kate Morrison of Palmer, Arlo Skowyra of Monson, and Nicole Fecteau of Arlington, along with her great grandchildren Mikayla, Connor, and Alivia Skowyra of Monson, and Aidan and Drew Fecteau of Arlington. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Her dear friends and traveling companions, Chris Buchman and Janet Phillips will also miss her dearly.
