Obituary of Frances C. Gola

"Palmer, Frances C. (Rudnick) Gola, 57, of Burlingame Rd., died suddenly on Thursday, October 19 at her home. Born in Palmer, November 24, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anastasia (Serdinsky) Rudnick. Fran grew up in Palmer and attended Sts. Peter & Paul School and was a graduate of Palmer High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Westfield State and later her Masters in Social Work from St. Joseph’s College in Connecticut. She currently worked as a Social Worker for the Wing Memorial Hospital for the past 22 years. Fran lived in Belchertown from 1970 – 1984 before returning to Palmer. A devoted communicant of Sts. Peter & Paul Church, she was also a member of its choir. She was the former choir director at St. Francis Church in Belchertown, as well as having taught CCD and confirmation classes there. She will be deeply missed by her three children Peter and his wife Marnie of The Poconos, PA, Kerry Gola of Ludlow, and Kathryn Gola of Sturbridge. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Brandon, Ryan and Anissa Gola, who lovingly referred to her as “Nana Fran”. A funeral service will be Monday, October 23 at 9:00 a.m. from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St., followed by a liturgy of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. in Sts. Peter & Paul Church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that flowers be omitted and, for those wishing, donations be made in her memory to either Sts.
