Obituary of Jadwiga Klimczuk

" Jadwiga (Jaskiewicz) Klimczuk, 87, of Beacon Ave., died Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Holyoke Medical Center with her family by her side. Born February 24, 1919 in Northampton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Andrej and Marya (Roszkowski) Jaskiewicz. She was raised in Poland and lived there through WWII when she was placed in a forced labor camp. She later moved back to the United States and resided in Northampton before moving to Holyoke in 1950. She was a communicant of Mater Dolorosa Church and belonged to the Polish Women’s Alliance. Jadwiga was a very skilled seamstress working for various clothiers for many years. She loved to sew and enjoyed her flowers. Jadwiga was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1972 and her daughter Roma in 2003. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Ina Klimczuk of Belchertown and Lydia Klimczuk of South Hadley. She is also survived by her niece Ewa Pierzchalski of Holyoke and her loving caregiver of many years, Alba Carmona as well as numerous cousins in the area. Besides her husband and daughter, two brothers and two sisters predeceased her. All services were private and Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home was entrusted with funeral arrangements.
