Obituary of John P. Kiernan

"Warren- John Patrick Kiernan, 67 of Town Farm Road passed away on September 11, 2006. Born in New York City on August 4, 1939, and is the son of Katherine Rose (Coyne) Kiernan and the late John Joseph Kiernan, both born in Ireland. He married Carole Morrison in 1968 and they’ve been living in Warren since 1976. John served in the US Navy, was a Cub Master and Den Leader with the Cub Scouts, and was Worthy Patron in the Order of the Eastern Star. He was actively involved in Quaboag Lodge in Warren and Thomas Lodge in Palmer; served as District Deputy Marshal for the Palmer 19th District and in 2001, received the Joseph Warren Medal. John is held in loving memory by his mother, his wife of 37 years, his sons Terrence and Brian, as well as his brother Eamon and wife Cookie with nephews Eamon and Stephen, his brother Thomas and wife JoAnne with nephew Sean, and his Sister-in-Law Patricia Gilroy. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, a dedicated father, a faithful son, a beloved brother, a cherished uncle, and a loyal friend. He was a fun and giving man, known for his cooking, his jokes and his ability to liven up any situation. A memorial Evergreen service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St., Palmer, MA. A visitation will precede the service from 12:00-2:00 p.m. "
