Obituary of William H. Evans

" William H. Evans, died September 9, 2006, at Willimansett Nursing Home in Chicopee. Born December 20, 1923, he was the son of the late Howard and Mary (McCarthy) Evans. William resided in Ludlow since 1998. Prior to that, he lived in Wilbraham for 35 years. He worked for American Standard Plumbing and Heating for 37 years, retiring in 1990. His wife , Mary (Hackbarth), predeceased him in 1997. He will be sadly missed by his 4 children, Patrick and his wife Sandra of Chicopee, Michael and his wife Dawn of Michigan, Susan Woods of Brimfield, and John and his wife Denise of Ludlow, with whom he lived. His 4 grandchildren, Virginia, Michael, Christopher, and Samantha, also survive him. Besides his wife, his brother, Rosser, also predeceased him. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, September 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Woodland Dell Cemetery in Wilbraham. There are no calling hours and Beers and Story Palmer Funeral has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society."
