Obituary of Andrew Plouf

"Brimfield- Andrew Plouf, 90, former 31 year resident of New Salem died September 4, 2006 at his home in Brimfield. Born December 28, 1915 in Blandford, MA, the son of the late Harry and Eva (Bolger) Plouf, he has lived in Brimfield for the past year, previously also living in Granby and Belchertown. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army and was disabled at Pearl Harbor. Andrew retired in 1971 from the former Daisy Mae Restaurant in Belchertown where he was a short order cook. He then went on to work at the Belchertown State School and a local construction company until 1977. Mr. Plouf is survived by his wife of 36 years, Leocadia “Linda” (Mosio) along with his stepchildren Mary Ann Wales of Brimfield, Walter Rutkowski of Middletown, CT, and William Rutkowski of Pelham. He also leaves two step-grandchildren Alise and Derek Wales, along with his brother in law Walter Mosio and his wife Adelle of Ocala, FL. Besides his parents, Andrew was predeceased by a stepson Richard Rutkowski in 2004. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St., (Rte. 202) followed by burial with military honors in West Cemetery in Granby. A visitation will precede the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Donations may be made in his memory to either Quaboag Valley Hospice, 42B Wright St., Palmer or the American Heart Association, 1111 Elm St., W.Springfield, MA 01089. "
