Obituary of Joseph W. Van Hook

" Joseph W. Van Hook, Jr. died September 4, 2006 at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge, MA. Born on July 13, 1938 in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of Evelyn (Campbell) Van Hook with whom he lived. He resided in Brimfield his entire life. Joseph served his country in the Army for 15 years, retiring in 1980. He also worked for the US Postal Service in Hartford for many years. He will be sadly missed by his three children, Bridget Metz of Merrimac, MA, Joseph E. and Diane Van Hook both of Brimfield. His grandson Caleb and many nieces and nephews as well as his three sisters, Frances Van Hook and Auloris Flenoy both of CA and Evelyn Perrineau of NY, also survive him. His father, Joseph, Sr. and a sister Agnes Thorne, predeceased him. A funeral Service will be on Tuesday, September 12 at 9:00 a.m. from the Brimfield Congregational Church followed by burial in Brimfield Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 5-7 p.m from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made in Joseph’s memory to The American Cancer Society. "
