Obituary of John E. Dunn

"John E. Dunn, 91, of Sibley St. in the Three Rivers section of Palmer died Saturday, August 26 at Wingate at S. Hadley Nursing Home. Born in Palmer, October 12, 1914, he was the son of the late Daniel and Bridget (Burke) Dunn. John lived in Palmer all of his life and was a graduate of its high school. He worked for the Boston-Maine Railroad for many years and retired from American Standard in Monson in 1963 after 30 years. He was an arbitrator for the AFL-CIO and attended Univ. of Connecticut. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. His wife Frances (Langer) Dunn died in 2004. He will be missed by his daughter Ruth Farr of Granby, four grandchildren Diana, Wayne and Steven Quinn and Lea Farr, along with one great grandson, two step great grandchildren and one step great great grandson. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 30 at 9:15 a.m. from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by a mass in St. Thomas Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
