Obituary of Evelyn I. Royce

"Evelyn E. Royce, 94, of North St. in the Three Rivers section of Palmer, died Friday, July 7 at her home. Born in Three Rivers, January 16, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Martha (Aldrich) Royce and lived in Three Rivers all of her life. Evelyn worked for 25 years at American Optical in Southbridge before retiring in 1974. Though she never had children, she leaves her nephew David Barton and his wife Karen with whom she lived, as well as his sisters, Jolene Mason and her husband Dan, Laurie Hilbert and her husband Kevin, Virginia Dumont and her husband Scott, along with their families who were like her own children. Additionally, she leaves a sister Helen Hubert of Monson, and many other nieces and nephews, who were very special to her. Evelyn was a 70 years member of the Palmer Grange and the Rebekah Lodge. She was also a member of the former Union Evangelical Church in Three Rivers and her funeral service will be held there on Wednesday, July 12 at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial in Four Corners Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5:00 –8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11 at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N.
