Obituary of Joseph M. MacDougall

"Joseph M. MacDougall, 80, of Riverdale Road died July 6 at home. Born in Cambridge, February 13, 1926, he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Flora (Kelm) MacDougall. <br><br>He lived in the Three Rivers section of Palmer for many years before moving to W. Springfield 15 years ago. He worked in advertising for many years before retiring. Following his retirement, Mr. MacDougall worked at the Holyoke Public Library. <br><br>He is survived by his 6 children, Janet Phelps and her husband Joel of Amherst, NH, Marilyn MacBruce and her husband Ronald of Brookfield, VT, Mark T. MacDougall and his wife Susan of Palmer, Matthew J. MacDougall and his wife Lorraine of Shirley, Joan Appleby and her husband Bernard of Palmer, and Kathryn Hoy and her husband Thomas of Palmer, along with two sisters Janet Leary of Washington, IL, and Marie Welch of Glastonbury, CT. He also leaves 12 grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Robert, a son Joseph in 1996 and a daughter Karen in 1966, along with his grandson Benjamin in 1980. <br><br>At the decedent’s request, all services will be private.
