Obituary of Stella Phyllis Jensen

"Palmer- Stella P. (Sowa) Jensen, 95, of Sykes St. passed away June 29 at Wingate of Wilbraham. Born August 16, 1910 in Holyoke, MA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Carolina (Salamon) Sowa. Stella has lived in Palmer since 1942, previously residing in Belchertown. She is a communicant of Sts. Peter & Paul Church and worked for many years at the former Tambrands in Three Rivers. Stella was an avid bingo player at many area churches. She was predeceased by her husband Walter T. in 1984 and is survived by two sons Walter and his wife Stephanie of Three Rivers, and Richard and his wife Joanne of Palmer. She also leaves two sisters Josephine Snowden of Belchertown and Mary Topor of Acton, MA along with five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Besides her husband, Stella was predeceased by two brothers Frederick and Raymond Sowa, two sisters Rose Peterson and Bertha Govin, and her granddaughter Shelia Jensen. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30am from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by a mass at 10:00am in Sts. Peter & Paul’s Church. Burial will follow in South Cemetery. A calling hour will be Monday morning from 8:30-9:30 am. "
