Obituary of Robert A. Holmes

"Belchertown, Robert A. Holmes, 50, of Warren Wright Road, died suddenly Tuesday, June 20 at home. Born in Malone, NY, February 10, 1956, he was the son of Pierrette (Ducourneau) Holmes with whom he lived, and the late Merrill A. Holmes. Bob grew up in Belchertown and attended Pathfinder Regional Vocational High School. He was a self employed mechanic and equipment operator and was skilled at fixing anything with a motor. He was an avid outdoorsman, and among other interests, loved flying his ultralight. Besides his mother, he will be sadly missed by his son Brad of E. Longmeadow, his longtime companion and best friend, Jane Williams of Belchertown, as well as his brother Gary of Palmer and sister Lisa Holmes of Windsor Locks, CT. He also leaves his aunts Sally Boyea of Burke, NY and Francine Ducourneau of France and his former wife Gail Ginsberg of E. Longmeadow along with his childhood friend Greg Aldrich. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, June 25 at 4:00 p.m. the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St., (Rte. 202). Calling hours will precede the service from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice. "
