Obituary of Norma Bucior

"Palmer-Norma (Melen) Bucior died March 7, 2010 at Palmer Healthcare Center. She was born July 2, 1927 in Rutland, VT, daughter of the late Van and Merle (Nielsen) Melen. She was very active in sports while at Rutland High School and after graduating, Norma became a switchboard telephone operator. In 1947, she married Henry Bucior. Norma has lived in Hartford, CT, Agawam and Palmer and temporarily lived in Homosassa, FL. She has resided at Palmer Health Care Center for a number of years, previously living on Mason St. She was a homemaker and more or less a jack of all trades. Norma leaves behind her husband Henry and sons Michael, Thomas, James and John Bucior and was preceded in death by son Thomas Bucior and sister Beverly Abbot and brother Edward Melen. She also leaves 3 grandchildren Andrew, Jonathan, and Jennifer. Norma was very active at Second Congregational Church in Palmer. The family expresses the wonderful care she received from the nursing staff at Palmer Health Care Center. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Donations in her memory can be made to Palmer House Family Council, 250 Shearer St, and Palmer MA 01069. Burial services will be at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA at a future date."
