Obituary of Stanley J. Handzel

"Stanley J. Handzel, 90, of Shea Ave., died Monday, March 01, 2010 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Palmer, October 8, 1919, he was the son of John and Mary (Pisarski) Handzel, and lived in Belchertown for most of his life. He belonged to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Palmer and he and his wife owned and operated Nu-Way Stainless Steel in Palmer before retiring. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 68 years, Sophie (Opielowski) Handzel, along with his two children James R. Handzel and his wife Mary of Evergreen, CO, and Deborah Brunell and her husband James of Belchertown. He also leaves three siblings, John Handzel of Thorndike, Mary Bolow and Josephine Slozak both of Bondsville, along with his 4 grandchildren Jillian and Jason Brunell, and James Handzel, Jr. and Dr. Charleen Handzel. A great grandson, Avery Orzek also survives him. A memorial service will be held March 6, 2010 at the Kingdom Hall, 133 Old Palmer Road, Brimfield. Donations may be made to the Kingdom Hall. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. "
