Obituary of Sharon L. Richer

"Palmer-Sharon L. (McCollom) Richer, 57, of School St., died Sunday, February 21, 2010 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Palmer, March 28, 1952, she was the daughter of June (Lynn) McCollom of Bondsville, and the late Frederick McCollom. A lifelong resident, she graduated from Palmer High School and received her associates degree from Greenfield Community College and later attended Holyoke Community College and the University of Massachusetts. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and worked as a paraprofessional at Palmer High School for 15 years. Besides her mother, she will be deeply missed by her husband of 26 years, Paul, along with her 2 sons, Zachary of Palmer and Travis and his wife Jaimie of Bondsville. She also leaves her sister Sheila Gustafson and husband James, and brother Duane McCollom and wife Toni, all of Bondsville, as well as many extended family and friends. Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 24 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St, (Rte. 20). Friends and family may gather on Thursday by 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home to process to St. Thomas Church for a mass which will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
