Obituary of Richard Joseph Potter

" Belchertown – Richard J. Potter, 31, of Mill Valley Rd., died on Aug. 1, 2005 at UMASS Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 29, 1974 in Ware, MA he is the son of Patricia (Berry) Potter of Belchertown and the late Richard C. Potter. He was a life long resident and attended the Belchertown schools. Richard was currently employed by UMASS. In his leisure he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and spending time with his daughter. Besides his mother, he is survived by the loves of his life, his fiancé Rebecca Hayes and their daughter Sabrina Potter of Belchertown. He also leaves two sisters Norma Chartier and her partner Jim Shea and Mary Poulin and her husband Michael and a brother Christopher Potter all of Belchertown. He will also be missed by his in-laws Philip and Nancy Hayes of S. Deerfield, brothers-in-law Michael Hayes and his wife Jenna, and Stephen Hayes, godchild Jasmine and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be Saturday at 10:00 am in the Belchertown Congregational Church, followed by burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 5-8:00pm at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home.
