Obituary of Ronald C. Allen

"South Hadley - Ronald C. Allen, Sr., 66, of Los Angeles Street died on December 3, 2009 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Dixfield, ME on February 5, 1943, son of the late Finley and Ilda (Barry) Allen. Living in S.Hadley since 1967, he previously resided in Holyoke. Ron worked as a long distance tractor trailer driver for over 40 years. He enjoyed golf, flying, driving his trucks and riding his Harley, but most of all his family. He was always the optimist and saw the good in people. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Pauline "Paula" (Chapdelaine) along with his children Robin Davis and her husband Glenn of S.Hadley, Ron Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Wade and his wife Bridget all of Holyoke. "Papa" as he was so referred to by his grandchildren Nicholas and Ryan Davis, Chase, Riley and Molly Allen, will deeply miss him. He also leaves a brother Finley and his wife Barbara of FL along with extended family and dear friends. Ron was predeceased by his sister Mary Jane Desmond in 1994. Visitation will be Sunday Dec. 6th from 12:00-3:00 p.m. with a service of remembrance beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story S.Hadley Funeral Home.
