Obituary of Raymond P. Feeney

" Monson – Raymond P. Feeney, 72, of Betty Jean Dr., passed away at home on November 21, 2009. Born January 17, 1937 in South Johnville, New Brunswick, Canada, he was the son of the late Peter and Julia (Mitchell) Feeney. Raymond was in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War and he was Life member of the VFW post 9397 in Hampden. He has lived in Monson for over 30 years and retired in 1994 from Construction Services Inc., in Wilbraham, where he worked for 24 years. He was an active member of the Renal Transplant Educational Support Group at UMASS Memorial Health Care. Raymond will be remembered as being a strong fine gentleman, always willing to lend a hand to his family and friends. He was a man of determination, never letting his illness throughout the years get the best of him. He is survived by his loving companion and best friend Judith (Judy) Hibbard with whom he lived, two sisters Marie LeClair of Westfield and Celein Draghetti of Agawam. He also leaves a sister-in-law Mary Feeney of E. Longmeadow, two nephews Mark J. Feeney and his wife Ann and daughter Paige of Hampden and David LeClair and his wife Theresa of Enfield, CT. He was predeceased by two brothers Henry and William Feeney, a sister Louise Ulhmann, a great niece Ashley and great nephew Evan Feeney. A Memorial Service will be Monday Nov. 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UMASS Medical School Developmental Office 333 South St., Shrewsbury, MA 01545, make checks payable to UMMS-Transplant Fund or to Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104. "
