Obituary of William E. Oppel

"William E. Oppel, 54, of Brimfield Rd., died on November 23, 2009 at home. Born in Springfield, August 22, 1955, he was the son of the late Robert H. and Claire E. (Moore) Oppel. He grew up in Monson, a graduate of its high school, lived for a time in Ludlow before returning to Monson. He had previously worked for Unifirst in Indian Orchard. He will be missed by his 3 sons, Matthew and Michael at home and Brett of Ludlow. He also leaves his siblings, Robert and Diane Oppel with whom he lived, as well as Deborah Harris and her husband Thomas of Monson. His nephews Jonathan and Christopher Harris and niece Holly L'Roange also survive him. Calling hours will be Friday, November 27 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Friends and family may gather on Saturday for 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home or meet directly at St. Patrick's Church, Monson at 10:00 a.m. for a funeral mass. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery.
