Obituary of Julia A. Laviolette

"Palmer - Julia A. Laviolette, 90, of Park Street died on October 30, 2009 in Wingate of Hampden. She was born July 7, 1919 in Amherst, MA, daughter of Herbert and Anna (Chartier) Dubay. Julia was the owner of Nick's Sport Shop in Palmer from 1968 - 2000. Previously she worked as a LPN at Mary Lane Hospital. She had lived in Palmer since 1968 and was a communicant of St. Thomas Church. Surviving are two daughters, Susan Hamilton of Palmer and Frances Niegocki of Tomkins Cove, NY, four step-children Richard and Robert Laviolette, Jeanne Santucci and Rocky Blazejowski all of Palmer. She also leaves a sister Beatrice Bobbitt of St. Louis, two brothers John Dubay of Gill and Henry Dubay of Chicopee, 28 grandchildren 71 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Julia was preceded in death by her first husband Theodore Grzywacz (1963) and her second husband Ladislaw "Nick" Laviolette (1983). Her funeral will be held Monday, November 2 at 9:15 a.m. from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by a liturgy of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas Church. Burial will follow in New St. Williams Cemetery in Ware. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Palmer Senior Center or the Palmer Library. "
