Obituary of Walter H. Couture

"Walter H. Couture, 62, of Hadley St., died March 13, 2005 in Holyoke Hospital. Born in Westfield on August 4, 1942, he was the son of the late Harvey and Marie (McCarrick) Couture. He grew up in Westfield and has lived in South Hadley since 1978. Walter was an independent truck driver for many years and previously worked for Columbia Bike in Westfield. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Karen (Olesiak) Couture three daughters, Julie and Connie Couture both at home and Susan Couture of New York. He also leaves three sisters, Doris Carmody and Janice Couture both of Southwick, and Marjorie Tkacz of Chicopee along with a granddaughter, a niece and a nephew. He will be remembered as a dedicated and loyal father and avid drag racing fan. Funeral services will be Thursday at 9:00 am from the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St (Rt116) followed by a mass at 10:00 am in St. Theresa’s Church. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial is at the convenience of the family.
