Obituary of Albert U. Paquette

" Albert U. Paquette, 86, of Ferry St., died March 9, 2005 at Heritage Hall West in Agawam. Born July 4, 1918 in Canada, he was the son of the late Dalpha and Leonie (Martin) Paquette. Albert has lived in South Hadley for the past 51 years, previously residing in Holyoke. He retired from Fisk/ Uniroyal Tire in 1978 after 40 years of employment as a supervisor. Albert was an avid golfer and member of Hickory Ridge Golf Course, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and won the city championship in tennis. He also enjoyed stock car racing at Riverside, was a Boy Scout leader, a member of Holyoke Elks, and a communicant of St. Theresa’s Church. Albert leaves his wife of 28 years, Margaret (Cormier), two children Richard Paquette and his wife Karen of Palm Harbor, FL, Kenneth Paquette and his wife Madeleine of Essex Junction, VT, step children Gloria Page and her husband Dr. David Page of West Dover, VT, Beverly Dudek of Palmer, and a brother Lucien Paquette of Springfield . He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, Regina, Kathryn, Trevor, Cari-Anne, David, Andrew and Laura and his great grand -daughter, Emily. Albert was predeceased by his first wife Juliette (McCasland) in 1973, and four brothers, Godfrey, William, Eugene, and Sigefroid. The family gratefully acknowledges the wonderful people at Heritage Hall who lovingly cared for Albert. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. (Rte 116), followed by a Mass of Christian Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Church. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
