Obituary of Vera Osgood Munn

"Vera Osgood Munn, 89, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend died peacefully October 11, 2009 at her daughter's home in Monson, MA. Her children and caregivers were with her at her death. Vera graduated from Bradford Academy in Bradford, VT in 1939, later graduating from the Boston School of Hair Design. On October 17, 1942 she married Foster Munn, who died in 1972. Vera worked as a hairdresser, teacher's aide at Bradford Graded School, and as a homemaker. Additionally, she volunteered at Mary Hitchcock Hospital, Brookside Nursing Home, the Lyme residence of United Developmental Services, and as a server at many senior meals. Vera was an active church member at churches near her residences in both the Upper Valley and near Palmer, MA where she moved in 2007 to live with her daughter. Vera had a passion for square dancing, sewing, quilting, baking, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren whose many activities, from horse back riding to basketball, she enjoyed following closely. Vera is survived and will be greatly missed by her three children, John Munn of Bettendorf, IO, Paul Munn of Lyme Center, NH, Nellie LeMay of Monson, MA, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Vera was predeceased by her brothers Walt, John and Alison and sisters Flora and Helen. A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15th at the Grace Bible Chapel (Silver Street Chapel), 224 Silver St., Monson, MA. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Bradford, VT. Memorial contributions can be made to Grace Bible Chapel, in care of Pastor David Barton, 89 North St, Three Rivers, MA 01080. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements."
