Obituary of George C. Gross

"Brimfield- George C. Gross, Jr., 84, of Warren Rd. died Feb. 8, 2005 at Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer. Born November 13, 1920 in NY, NY, he was raised and educated in NY and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Queens College. George served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII on board the USS LST 794. He has lived in Brimfield since 1950 and retired from Monsanto where he was chief advertiser. After his retirement, George worked as a freelance writer. He was very active in the community and politically in the town of Brimfield and was a former member of the Board of Selectman. George is survived by his beloved wife Olivene (Pelletier) of 6 years, and mother and father-in-law Henry and Theresa Pelletier of Brimfield. A visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. –11:00 a.m. with a service at 11:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately. "
