Obituary of Vito Marinello

"Vito J. Marinello 1920 - 2009 GRANBY - Vito J. Marinello, 89, died on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Holyoke Medical Center with his family by his side. Born in North-ampton on January 21, 1920, he was the son of the late Stefano and Anna (Netti) Marinello. Vito proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. He was a self employed carpenter and ran his business under the name of Mr. Fix it for many years. Vito loved people and especially enjoyed time with his family. He was an avid rock collector and taught courses in Lapidary, enjoyed fresh water fishing, dining out and his sweets. For many years he and his wife Maria enjoyed their winter months in Florida. He will be missed by his wife of 59 years, Maria (Lanaro) Marinello, his three children, Mark and his wife Meredith of Carson City, NV, Luann Boudreau and her husband Arthur of Springfield, and Dino and his wife Joanne of South Hadley along with his five grandchildren, Alexandra, Emma Bushey and her husband Jordan, Ashley, Adam and Tessa Lucia and one great grandson, Jude. His sisters Hazel Jones and Annie Durham both of FL, Marci Ruddeforth and Jean Pelland both of Northampton also survive him. He was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters. A memorial service celebrating Vito's life will be on Saturday, October 3 11:30 a.m. at the Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. (Rt. 116).
