Obituary of Stella Rose Cowles

"Bloomfield, CT-Stella R. (Kulas) Cowles, 85, passed away Sept. 3, 2009 at Bloomfield Healthcare Center. Born in Palmer, MA on February 4, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rozalia (Swider) Kulas. Stella grew up in Palmer and the Three Rivers section and in the past 15 years has moved to Connecticut to be closer to her daughter. She worked as an accounting clerk at Mass Mutual and was previously a member at Sts. Peter & Paul Church and School. During the time she lived in Westfield, MA, she was a member at Blessed Sacrament and the Rosary Sodality. Stella enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren and time in the garden. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Debra Possardt and her husband Craig of Tolland, CT along with her two grandchildren Andrew and Ryan Possardt. She also leaves many nieces and their families. Stella was predeceased by her siblings, Stanley Kulas, Sophie Jarosz and Frances Bernet. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 9 at 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N.Main St. (Rte 20) followed by a memorial Mass at Sts. Peter & Paul Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Anne's Cemetery. Donations may be made to Sts. Peter & Paul Church, 267 Main St., Three Rivers, MA 01080. "
