Obituary of Barbara E. Organek

"Westfield, Barbara E. (Conti) Organek, 52, died Sunday, August 23 in Holyoke from injuries as a result of an automobile accident. Born in Holyoke on December 30, 1956, she was the daughter of Mary Ellen (Ashton) Conti of Westfield and the late James Conti. A prizewinning cook, Barbara won many Blue Ribbons at the Blandford Fair for her baked goods. She was a talented artist and was skilled at jewelry making. She also enjoyed the outdoors, flying kites and helping people. In her working career, she spent many years as a certified nursing assistant. Besides her mother, she will be deeply missed by her daughter, Rachel Organek of Blanford, along with many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be at Beers & Story So. Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St., on Saturday, August 29 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. A calling hour from 10:00 to 11:00 will precede the service.
