Obituary of Kathy Ann Borkowski

" Kathy Ann (Slater) Borkowski, 45, died Saturday, December 04, 2004 at the Willimansett Nursing Home following a long illness. Born in Holyoke, May 5, 1959, she was the daughter of Thomas and Helen “Sue” (Goepfert) Slater of Granby. She grew up in Granby and was a 1977 graduate of Granby High School. Kathy Ann previously lived in Alburg, VT and worked for many years as a companion for the elderly and in nursing home care and while there was a member of the Fireman’s Auxiliary. Among her many interests and hobbies, she loved crafting, collecting beanie babies, mice figurines and angels, along with cake decorating. She will be deeply missed by her parents, along with her husband Michael F. Borkowski, and son Kyle of Three Rivers, her twin brother Michael of Springfield, two sisters Mary Kay Pelton of Westfield, and Judy McCullough of Oklahoma, three other brothers John of VT, Wayne of S. Hadley, and David of Springfield. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, two of which are serving in Iraq. A Service of Remembrance will be held Thursday, December 9 at 11:00 a.m. in the Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton Street, (Rte. 116) followed by burial in West Cemetery, Granby.
