Obituary of Alice Burke

"Great Barrington-Alice (Wales) Burke, 90, of State Rd., passed away July 29, 2009 at Kimball Farms Nursing Center in Lenox. Born on May 24, 1919 in Holden, MA, she was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Belle (Fay) Wales. Alice has resided in Great Barrington since 1995. Previously living in Belchertown, Alice retired in 1995 after 21 years of employment from Bell & Hudson Insurance Agency, where she worked as a clerk. She previously owned AB Real Estate for 10 years in Belchertown along with running Burke's Christmas Tree Farm on Old Enfield Rd. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond V. "Bill" Burke in 1997 along with her son John E. Burke in 1990. Alice is survived by her daughter Patricia Kinne and husband David of Great Barrington along with 2 grandchildren Kristen Flynn and her husband Sean of Great Barrington and Karen Eisen and her husband Mark of Franchhoek, South Africa, 4 great grandchildren, Hannah, Molly, David, and Abigail. She also leaves a sister Elizabeth Joyal of Rutland, MA. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, August 8th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with a service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St. (Rte 202) with burial to follow in Quabbin Park Cemetery.
