Steven, Dana, and Family, I am sorry to hear of your loss. Paul was a very special part of our family for over 30 years. I fondly remember his visit to Olympia- and his energy and enthusiasm. In 1995 he and Chukki hiked the Lake Ozette triangle trail, part of which is along the Pacific coast. They overlooked warnings about high tide and raccoons- they had to scale massive headlands in the rain using ropes. And they abandoned lunch to pesky and ferocious raccoons. He was quite the adventurer. Paul was also a very generous man- he was thoughtful and kind. He often started a sentence with One wonders, and would continue to ponder lengthy and deep subjects. My thoughts are with you. Paul was very proud of his family and spoke fondly of you all.

One of the most beautiful obits I have ever read. I never knew Paul, but I wish I had. Whoever wrote it did themselves proud, and understood the magic of the sea faring man.

I will miss Grandpa, and forever cherish all the time and stories he shared with me. I admire the life he led and hope incorporate the values I admire most in him into my own life: his desire to learn and explore, his active lifestyle and his love for his family. I love you, Grandpa.
