Obituary of Frank Samborski

" Frank Samborski, 89, passed away October 29th at home. Born in Chicopee, MA March 3, 1923, he was the son of the late John and Katherine (Zamrog) Samborski. Frank grew up in Chicopee and Granby before moving to Belchertown 57 years ago. He was a WWII ArmyVeteran serving in the European Theater. He worked for the Moore Drop Forge Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1981. Frank enjoyed fishing and spectator sports. He was a charter member and trustee of the VFW Post 8428. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Alice (Normand) Samborski along with his daughter Joy Adams of Glenolden, PA. His two grandchildren Roger Adams and Melanie Leahan of PA, two great-grandchildren Frank Leahan III and Madison Rae Adams of PA, his sister Mary Dec of Granby, MA a brother-in-law Dick Normand of Belchertown and sister-in-law Irene Barnell of Middletown, IN. He was predeceased by his son CPL. Roger Gaughan in 1967 who was killed in the Vietnam War, a daughter Mona L. Samborski in 1992 along with three brothers and one sister. A funeral service will take place from the Beers and Story Belchertown Funeral Home on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Church.
