Obituary of Gordon H. Prior

"Hampden- Gordon H. Prior, 78, of Glendale Rd. died October 22, at home after a long illness. Born January 22, 1926 in Springfield, MA, he was the son of the late Harold A. and Elsie (Stearns) Prior. Gordon has lived in Hampden for 19 years, previously residing in E.Longmeadow. He served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. After 30 years of employment, he retired from Hamilton Standard where he worked as a tool designer. Previously he worked at the Springfield Armory. Gordon was a member of the Federated Community Church of Hampden where he also served as a deacon. He was an assistant boy scout leader for six years. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jacqueline June (Horner), and four children Carol Anne DiAugustino of Agawam, James Gordon Prior of Charlton, David Roy Prior of Aurora, CO, and Robert Allan Prior of Saco, ME. He also leaves eight grandchildren, Katherine, Rachel, Thomas, Jennilyn, Jonathan, Christopher, Emily and Katie Prior. A memorial service will be held Thursday October 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Federated Community Church in Hampden. Burial is private.
