Obituary of Margery I. Hooper

"Monson- Margery I. (Jordan) Hooper, 89, of Colonial Village Apts. died October 7 at Wing Memorial Hospital. Born in Worcester, August 26, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Charlie B. and Bertha A. (Graham) Jordan. Margery was previously employed at Breezeland Orchards in Warren, Sanderson Macleod in Palmer and retired from American Optical in Southbridge. She was a longtime member and Past Noble Grand of the Rebekahs of Warren, a 71 year member of the Grange, former member and Past Master of the Warren Grange, current member of the Palmer Grange, Springfield Pamona Grange, MA State Grange and National Grange. Margery was also an avid participant at the Monson Senior Center. She was predeceased by her husbands, Waldo Healy, Robert Allen and Frederick Hooper and is survived by her children Marion Louise and her husband Lenwood G. Hill of Jupiter, FL, Herbert Chandler and his wife Sheila E. Healy of Windsor, CT, step-children Virginia E. Giannini, Susan M. Audi, Robert O. and his wife Holly Hooper. She also leaves grandchildren Pamela L. (Hill) and husband Samuel Fuchs, Timothy G. Healy, Scott C. Healy, and Steven P. and wife Stacy Hill, 7 step grandchilren along with 4 great grandchildren. Margery was predeceased by her siblings, Donald, Howard and W.Sumner Jordan, Helen J. MacKay, and Elsie J. Havens. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N.Main St., followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery in Warren. A visitation will precede the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Monson Senior Center, 106 Main St., Monson, MA 01057.
