Obituary of Victoria L. Sanderson

"Monson, Victoria L. (Sasur) Sanderson, 81, of Main Street, died Thursday at Wing Memorial Hospital. Born in the Three Rivers section of Palmer, April 14, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Louise Sasur. Raised in Three Rivers, she has lived in Monson since 1949. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church and a long time member of the Monson Garden Club. “Vickie” volunteered at the Wing Memorial Hospital for forty years, until she was 80 years old and was also a longtime Red Cross Blood Bank Volunteer in Monson. She was an avid golfer and for many years played at Quaboag Country Club. Vickie was also an active member of the Monson Senior Center and loved cooking, gardening, weaving and crocheting. She was a generous anonymous benefactor to many local organizations. She was predeceased by her husband C. Kenneth Sanderson in 1984 and will be deeply missed by her three children, Eric of Palmer, Ruth Sanderson of Ware, and Gail Sanderson of Lancaster, PA, as well as her four grandchildren, Morgan, Whitney, Amanda and Luke, with whom she loved to spend time. She also leaves three brothers, Edward of Palmer, John of Three Rivers and Mitchell of Ludlow. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Ann Chabot, Wanda Trominski, and Mary Sammon and her brothers Peter, Joseph, and Stanley Sasur. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St, (Rte 20) followed by burial in Oak Knoll Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, September 26 from 1:00 – 3:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Donations may be made in her memory to the Monson Senior Center, Main Street, Monson, 01057."
